Project Spotlight · Google Business Profile

From no Google Business Profile to #1 on Google Maps in two months

An electric bike and scooter showroom with no online presence got a complete, verified Business Profile. In two months it reached #1 on Google Maps for its main search and sent 125 people asking for directions.

The challenge

The showroom sells electric bikes and scooters, and it had no Google Business Profile at all. When people nearby searched for what it offers, it simply did not appear on Google Maps, so every one of those searches went to someone else.

The market is a small city, so search volume is modest. That makes every appearance in the Map results count, and it means a profile has to be complete and accurate to win the few searches that do happen.

What we did

  • Created the profile and completed verification
  • Chose the primary and secondary categories
  • Added every service the business offers
  • Wrote a keyword-aware business description
  • Set accurate hours, phone and location
  • Uploaded real photos of the business
  • Set up a direct review link for customers
  • Matched NAP details across the profile

Honest note: direction requests were strongest right after launch and have eased since. That is common once a new listing’s first burst of visibility settles, and it is exactly why a profile needs ongoing posts, photos and reviews rather than a one-time setup.

What this project proves

  • Complete beats crowded. A fully built, accurate profile took the #1 Map spot in its city.
  • A missing profile is invisible. Before setup, none of these 125 people could have found the business on Maps.
  • Direction requests are real intent. Someone asking for directions is planning to show up, not just browsing.
  • Two months is enough to lead. A complete, accurate profile took the #1 Maps position from a standing start.
  • Small markets still pay. Even with low search volume, a complete profile turns the searches that exist into visits.
